Aceclofenac + PCM + Serratiopeptidase Tablets comes with the branding “WAYLAC-SP” and is a combination drug of the NSAID class, which includes aceclofenac, paracetamol and serratiopeptidase. This medication is mainly used to alleviate pain and inflammation connected with bone or soft tissue injuries, postoperative inflammation as well as oedema. Aceclofenac acts as an inhibitor of the cyclo-oxygenase enzyme and thereby decreases pain and inflammation.

Paracetamol improves pain control and febrifuge effects, serratiopeptidase, an enzyme, promotes the degradation of fibrin, a protein that forms at the injured site, and improves fluid outflow in inflamed tissues. The pain could also be classified as long-lasting or short-term, ending with terms such as chronic pain, or acute pain; and could be due to factors such as tissue inflammation, nerve inflammation, osteoarthritis or dental problems. Soft tissue inflammation and injuries that may cause musculoskeletal pain might take longer to heal, therefore the combination could be useful in their management.

Medical Benefits

  • Aceclofenac is classified as a COX inhibitor in that, it inhibits the enzyme that is responsible for the pain and the inflammation in the injured or the damaged tissue.
  • Paracetamol aids in relieving pain (analgesic) and reducing fever (antipyretic) thus, potentiating the analgesic effect of aceclofenac.
  • Serratiopeptidase also leads to the thinning of the fluids within the affected area to ease the process of fluid outflow in the inflamed tissue.
  • Together, this composition minimises pain as well as inflammation but is also effective in aiding the healing process.
